The Grey Man

The composition is wonderful but I miss the intense values and chiaroscuro of your usual work. This portrait appears to be charcoal on Cannes charcoal (gray) paper (or it's Swedish equivalent.) For me the value of the negative space is too close to the positive so that the intensity brought about by contrast is not present. I actually downloaded this work and painted in a white background with some stumbled white on the figure and sensed the same excitement your work brings to the viewer's eye. I would rename this deviant, the Grey Man Fades Away.
